Boat Screwdrivers

Tags: Pricing Positioning

I was at Bunnings the other morning early picking up a new Allen Key for the baby's cot because the thread was shot.

In the same aisle I walked past 2 identical screwdrivers.

One was a regular Philips Head, the other was a regular Philips Head but with the words 'Boat Screwdriver' next to an engaging image of a boat and DOUBLE THE PRICE.

The situation didn't work on me, because I'm not really into boats. But I wondered how many were bought, because it wasn't full to the brim.

To get a customer to buy at different price you only need to look a bit different, this is how different it takes to double your price.

It's not much.
